Minto is a recently formed town south west of Mount Forest, first established in 1999 by amalgamating the townships of Minto, Harriston, Palmerston, and Clifford. The area was first settled by non-aboriginal citizens in 1845, though land was not officially for sale by the crown for another ten years. As the smaller townships and villages began to expand, Minto was officially formed to cater to the needs of the residents. The area now has a cumulative population of just over 8000 residents.
Minto has an abundance of amenities available throughout the town. From a railway museum, libraries, churches, social and agriculture organizations, there is lots to do in Minto. Minto also holds many festivals great for weekend outings, such as the Trillium Festival or summer farmers markets. Minto offers all the convenient amenities residents need, including grocery stores, post offices and banks.
Minto homes for sale range in style and size due to the differing histories of the townships that formed this new community. Century homes are abundant in the area thanks to the longstanding history of the townships. Some of the larger homes for sale in Minto have been renovated and turned into smaller apartment complexes, perfect for those looking to take on a landlord role. Newly built homes have also begun to appear in Minto as a response to the recent amalgamation. These homes have modern features like open layouts, stone countertops and flooring, and large rooms. Whatever your style preferences, from century homes to Minto condos for sale, there is a property for you and we’re prepared to help you find it!
