With a population of just over 1000 residents, Blyth is a small community located in Huron County. First settled in 1851, the area is extremely proud of its history and roots as a market town for the agricultural region surrounding it.
Blyth is best known for its acclaimed Blyth Festival and the Blyth Festival Theatre, which has premiered over a hundred Canadian plays since 1975. Annually, more than 40,000 people attend the festival. Throughout the year, Blyth residents can enjoy local bakeries and cafes, unique gift shops and delicious restaurants found in the downtown area of Queen Street.
Many of the buildings in the community retain their Cape Dutch style detailing that was popular when the community began to develop in 1877. Some Blyth houses for sale reflect this style, with many century homes full of character and charm available for purchase. You’ll also find a good selection of newer bungalows and two storey detached family homes in the area, as well as more rural-style, multi-acre properties. If you are interested in building your own custom home or commercial property, there are often spacious lots available on the outskirts of the community.
